Association Championships Finals 2012

The weather was kind for the 13^th year of the annual Association Championships at the State Netball and Hockey Centre held on Sunday 24^th of June.

With the forecast of rain and chilly temperatures all day, the sun came through as 53 teams from all across the state played off for the title of champion in the Open, 17 &Under, 15 & Under and 13 & Under divisions.

Having finished in the top two in their zone qualifying tournaments, teams participated in a round robin tournament with the top two teams in each pool progressing through to finals and ultimately the winners of these to the Grand Final.

Goulburn Valley NL was well represented in the Open and 17 & Under divisions, with both teams progressing to the Grand Final and Open taking out top honours defeating Hampden by 4 goals. The 17 & Under division produced a nail biter with scores all tied up at the conclusion of the match. Geelong eventually taking the title of champions with a 3 goal win in overtime.

The day produced some fantastic netball and a wonderful opportunity for teams to get involved and showcase their talents.

Grand Final:

Goulburn Valley NL (12) defeated Hampden (8)

17 & Under

Semi Finals:

Semi Final 1: Geelong FNL (17) defeated Vic Churches NA (6)

Semi Final 2: Goulburn Valley NL (14) defeated Hampden FNL (11)

Grand Final:

Geelong FNL (23) defeated Goulburn Valley NL (20) in overtime.

15 & Under

Semi Finals:

Semi Final 1: Waverley City NA (18) defeated Geelong FNL (11)

Semi Final 2: Hampden FNL (11) Defeated Albury NA (9)

Grand Final:

Hampden FNL (15) defeated Waverley City NA (11)

13 & Under

Semi Finals:

Semi Final 1: Cranbourne South West NA (19) defeated Echuca & District (8)

Semi Final 2: Bendigo Strathdale NA (15) defeated Altona NA (13)

Grand Final:

Cranbourne South West NA (13) defeated Bendigo Strathdale (8)
