Regional State League aims to be the pinnacle netball activity in each of its regions and provide an enhanced high performance netball pathway for athletes and officials from the respective regions. It is envisaged that over time RSLs will be further developed so as to complement the current Victorian Netball League (VNL).
Established in 2007, Regional State League consists of two divisions – Open Division and 17& Under Division. RSL was first conducted in the North Central Region of Victoria hosted by Bendigo. In 2008 we saw Regional State League being rolled out into two more Regional Areas: Eastern RSL in Gippsland and Western RSL in Warrnambool. 2011 saw the extension of Regional State League to the Goulburn/North East region, hosted in Shepparton. 2013 will see the introduction of the Central Highland region, held in Ballarat
The Regional State League concept recognises the changing demands on our players, coaches, officials and administrators – school, university, work and other netball commitments – and balances this with our responsibility to develop pathways for netball participants across Victoria regardless of where they live.
Regional State League aims to:
Provide an elite competition in Regional Areas.
Provide clear pathways for players, coaches, officials and administrators to elite competitions including the Victorian Netball League.
TID opportunities for players for Zone Academy Selection.
TID opportunities for players to be invited to State Team screening day.
TID opportunities for umpires to be tested for B and A Grade Badges.

Increase the profile of netball in regional communities.
