Finding a Coach

We receive many calls from schools, clubs, Associations and teams who require the services of a coach for a term/season. It is difficult for Netball Victoria to find a coach for these requests, however, you can access our coaches by advertising your coaching position on the 'Jobs in Netball' page on Netball Victoria's website.

If you wish to submit an advertisement to be placed in the "Coaching Opportunities" Section of our website please email through to jessica.rankine@netballvic.com.au.

In addition, we suggest the following steps when in search of a coach:

First, write down all the information regarding the requirements of the position. Information needs to include:
- Time commitment for both games and training (i.e: days/nights, times & venue),
- Level of coaching accreditation required if applicable, and
- Remuneration if you are offering payment.
Produce a flyer with the above information which can be posted on notice boards. Remember to include a contact name and number for anyone interested in finding out more about the position. Keep the information brief , use large bold type and copy the flyer onto coloured paper so that it stands out and attracts attention.
If you are a school looking for coaches, contact your local netball associations, they may have a coach who might be interested or could be willing to advertise your position in their association newsletter or via their notice board.
Contact your local sports/netball stadiums, they too might be willing to advertise your position by displaying your flyer on their notice boards. The State Netball Hockey Centre is a great place to advertise for a coach.
Contact Universities such as Deakin, VUT, RMIT or local TAFE Colleges who have Physical Education / Human Movement & Sports Coaching courses. They too may be willing to advertise to students.
Advertise the position in your local newspaper.

NB: Coaches who are registered with Netball Victoria are ONLY covered by Netball Victoria Insurance when they are playing/coaching in a Netball Victoria affiliated competition or event.
